Sonya M. Tamaddon

Sonya May Tamaddon is a curator and consultant working at the intersection of contemporary art and collectible design. With over a decade of experience across leading institutions—including LACMA, the Peggy Guggenheim Collection in Venice, and Desert X—as well as biennials, galleries, and international fairs, she brings a rare curatorial fluency that bridges disciplines, markets, and geographies. Her work is grounded in a deep understanding of emerging practices and a commitment to realizing ambitious commissions that expand the boundaries of both art and design.

Tamaddon has curated highly praised exhibitions such as Frieze Los Angeles's Focus section (co-curated with Amanda Hunt of the Walker Art Center), served as a key curatorial advisor for the U.S. launch of Brussels-based Collectible fair, and curated the highly praised exhibition Marie Hazard & Masaomi Yasunaga at Tristan Hoare Gallery in London featured in Cabana Magazine, Frieze Magazine and in Sotheby's must see exhibitions. Recognized in Wallpaper's USA 400 as one of the key figures shaping creative culture today, she collaborates with a global network of artists, designers, and makers to deliver bespoke works for interiors, exhibitions, and collections. Her clients—spanning interior designers and designers, gallerists and collectors to cultural platforms—look to her for her instinct for what's next, and her ability to translate visionary ideas into lasting, tangible form.
