About

Sonya Tamaddon collaborated with Mexico City based gallery MASA in the development of the gallery's early international program, supporting curatorial, exhibition, and sales strategy for key nomadic presentations in both Mexico City and New York, including exhibitions at Rockefeller Center and Sotheby's. Founded by Age Salajõe, Brian Thoreen, and Héctor Esrawe to address the absence of dedicated platforms for collectible contemporary design in Mexico in 2019, MASA quickly emerged as one of the most ambitious and critically regarded voices in the international design landscape.

Tamaddon worked closely with the team on MASA's landmark Rockefeller Center presentation, the first exhibition to activate multiple public and private sites across the NY campus, featuring large-scale commissions and installations by artists and designers including Pia Camil, Isamu Noguchi, Miguel Calderón, and Alma Allen, among other notable contemporary artist, designers, and historic artworks in dialogue with Mexico and the U.S.'s creative discourse historically and to present.
